What This Role Offers
Working within a Short-Term Accommodation (STA) environment, you’ll support up to four customers at once in a home-like setting. Your day will involve a variety of tasks tailored to each individual’s routines and personal needs. Whether it’s helping with social outings or providing personal care, your work will enable each person to live more fully and independently.
The shifts are primarily afternoon-based and include regular sleepovers. The ratio of care may vary — you’ll offer support in 1:2, 1:3, and occasional 1:1 formats depending on the customer’s requirements
Key Responsibilities
Your day-to-day tasks in this Disability Support Workeray include:
- Supporting individuals to participate in community activities and social events
- Assisting with personal care, PEG feeding, and manual handling
- Implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies
- Helping with medication administration and meal preparation
- Maintaining accurate notes, progress updates, and incident reports
